‘Gentleman’ clubs foes in Big M Pace prep
Friday night’s (June 26) feature at the Meadowlands was a high-end conditioned pace for 3-year-old colts and geldings, but it might as well have been written as a Meadowlands Pace Prep, with six of the seven entrants eligible to the track’s signature event, which will have eliminations – if necessary – on Saturday, July 4.
Swiss Lights stuns in Indiana Sires Stakes victory
Swiss Lights, driven by Trace Tetrick for trainer Jeff Cullipher, spoiled the Hoosier homecoming of Odds On Mr Mamba as the Rockin Image gelding pulled off a mild 9-2 upset in the $95,000 third leg of the Indiana Sires Stakes for 3-year-old male pacers on a wet Friday night (June 26) at Hoosier Park.

Due to heavy rain, poor track conditions, and concerns of more storms rolling in later in the day, racing at the Marion County Fair, in Lebanon, Ky., for Saturday (June 27), consisting of the 3-year-old Kentucky Proud Series card, has been postponed until Sunday (June 28) at noon (EDT).

Driver Atlee Bender scored the 1,000th win of his career on Friday (June 26) when he steered 2-year-old pacing filly Aww Suki Suki Na to a 2:01.2 win for owner-trainer Joey Ayotte in the first of 18 Kentucky Proud events at the Lebanon, Ky., fairgrounds.
Miki And Minnie breaks Plainridge track record
On a day that saw a total of three track records fall, two-time Dan Patch Award winner Miki And Minnie stopped the clock in 1:49.1 in Thursday’s (June 25) $27,500 Distaff Open at Plainridge Park and establish a new standard for 4-year-old pacing mares at the Massachusetts harness racing venue.
