Northville Downs prepares for 80th anniversary, prepares for new location in 2024
Northville Downs, which opened in 1944, will be celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2024. The Metro Detroit raceway will host a 10-day harness racing meet from Jan. 5 to Feb. 3, with racing to be conducted every Friday and Saturday beginning at 7 p.m.

Delaware grand slam for Gaitway Guy
Through his 2- and 3-year-old seasons, the GTY Stable homebred Gaitway Guy competed in 12 Delaware Standardbred Breeders’ Fund (DSBF) races — and won all of them. He completed his state-restricted stakes campaign on Thursday (Dec. 14) at Bally’s Dover with a 1:54.2 win in the $110,000 DSBF series final for 3-year-old male pacers, and in doing so he became the 10th horse in the 22-season history of the DSBF to sweep all four championships.
Cloverleaf posthumously honors 9-year-old Finn Cusick
In this industry, there is no greater feeling than sharing our sport. In 2023, the Cloverleaf Standardbred Owners Association met Finn Cusick and his namesake, Finn the Fox. Finn was an energetic and vibrant 9-year-old boy that in November 2022 was diagnosed with DIPG, a rare and aggressive cancer with an average overall survival of less than one year in children.
