The Muscle Hill gelding Diplomacy, who had displayed a pattern of breaking in every other start, continued that trend by following up on a miscue with a wire-to-wire victory in 1:55.3, looking more like the $425,000 yearling purchase that he was, in the $13,500 featured trot for up-and-coming horses at Harrah’s Philadelphia on Thursday (Sept. 11).
Massey wins five Wednesday at Hastings
Kody Massey added five driving wins to his total on Wednesday (Sept. 10) at Northville Downs at the Barry Expo Center. This brought his season total to 25 as he currently commands the drivers’ standings, leading his next closest rival, David Lake, who has 12 wins on the meet.
Ragtime Red reels off another Harrington win
David Banks’ Ragtime Red ($21.40, Allan Davis) won her fifth straight race in Tuesday’s (Sept. 9) $18,000 Fillies and Mares Open at Harrington Raceway, stopping the timer in 1:54.3.

Fragment shatters Batavia track record; Bartlett wins four at NY Night of Champions
Batavia Downs hosted the $2.4 million New York Sire Stakes Night of Champions on Saturday (Sept. 6) with eight divisions vying for $300,000 each. The competition was solid across the board, but two stars rose above the rest when the dust settled. Per Engblom’s Fragment turned a lot of heads when he scorched the Batavia oval in 1:52.1 for driver Jason Bartlett and shattered the track record for 2-year-old pacing colts by 1-2/5 seconds.
