Driver Aaron Hall and trainer Jamie Gerard grabbed two of the three $8,500 divisions of the Dasher Pop-up Series at Cumberland on Sunday (Dec. 14) amid intermittent snowfall.

William (Bill) O’Donnell, who had one of the greatest careers a driver has ever had, and since retiring from the sulky has stayed a major influence as president of the Central Ontario Standardbred Alliance (COSA), has been voted the highest honor decided solely by members of the United States Harness Writers Association (USHWA), the Stan Bergstein-Proximity Award.

Trotters take center stage at Cumberland on Saturday (Dec. 13) with three $7,500 divisions of the Prancer Pop-up Series’ second leg of action.

With the 2025 summer/fall harness racing meet coming to a close at Batavia Downs, it’s time for the Upstate New York Chapter of the United States Harness Writers Association to once again name the top performers of the session during the UNY-USHWA Night of Distinction awards ceremony that will be held on Saturday (Dec. 20), which is the final night of racing for the year.

Rosecroft Raceway’s leading driver, Russell Foster, swept Thursday’s (Dec. 11) featured events at the Capital Region harness racing venue, teaming up with Stamphillshadow GB for a repeat win in the night’s top distaff pace and Meadows invader Roan Ridge for a narrow score in the featured trot.
