Sierra Girl, Paulina Hanover win PASS splits at Pocono
Sierra Girl and Paulina Hanover picked up Pennsylvania Sire Stakes victories in the two-year-old trotting filly class on Sunday (Aug. 20) night at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania. The races comprised the final leg of the Sire Stakes preliminaries before the Pennsylvania finals are held on Saturday, September 2 at Pocono.

Driver Andy Miller became the 21st driver in North America to win 10,000 races on Sunday (Aug. 20) at Red Mile. He steered Samwise The Brave to his first career victory in four starts in 1:56.1 in a $15,000 third leg of the Kentucky Goldenrod Series for male sophomore trotters. The card in Lexington featured 10 stakes contests on a 13-race card and demonstrated Karl (Yannick Gingras) is another colt to keep an eye on moving forward after a dominating performance in the $80,000 Kentucky Sire Stakes third round action in his second start.

On Sunday (Aug. 13) Red Mile hosted 10 second round sire stakes divisions on a 15-race card for freshman and sophomore fillies of both gaits. Geocentric remained a perfect four-for-four in her young career in the $80,000 Kentucky Sire Stakes split for 2-year-old filly pacers and Mambacita resumed her winning ways in the leg for 3-year-old trotting fillies.
