Bob Hechkoff launched from off the speed through the final turn and landed the winning blow on the line to take the $9,000 American Harness Drivers Club (AHDC) Trot at Freehold Raceway on Saturday (Jan. 27).

Heading into the featured 10th-race Saturday (January 27) night at The Meadowlands, driver Andy McCarthy had already won three races – all favorites – on the program, but the 37-year-old pilot gave his fans one to get extremely excited about after guiding Ferretti to victory at odds of 11-1 in the $27,500 winners-over for trotters.

A solid group of performers will be squaring off in Sunday’s (January 28) featured $12,500 Dave Goldschmidt Free-For-All Pace, headed by Major Offense.

5-year-old French trotter Jushua Tree, trained and driven by Jean Michel Bazire was qualified to race in the Prix d’Amerique 2024 to be raced at Vincennes on Sunday (January 28).

€310,000 was the top price at the Prix d’Amerique-sale held over two days in France. The 4-year-old trotter Knockonwood, sired by Ready Cash was entered by trainer Phillippe Allaire and was sold to the Ecurie du Mont Joly.

It was just four days ago that driver Brett Beckwith celebrated a birthday that allows him to walk into a bar and order a drink. For Hall of Fame pilot Dave Miller, that birthday was long ago.

The Prix de Cornulier with a total purse money of 700,000 Euro at Vincennes, Paris, France was won by 22-1 shot, the 10-year-old mare Esperanza Idole with Jean-Yoann Ricart in the saddle.

Four horses battled it out in the Prix de Belgique at Vincennes Sunday (Jan. 14) afternoon, and the judges had to call for a photo.
