Total wagering on U.S. harness races in 2022 declined by 8.33 percent compared to 2021. In 2022, total wagering was $1,487,258,371, which was $135,086,255 less than the $1,622,344,626 that was bet in 2021.

Let It Ride N (Brett Miller) opened his 10-year-old season with a sharp 1:50.4 score in the initial $30,000 Open Pace, while 11-year-old My Hero Ron (Josh Sutton) captured a $22,000 co-feature for the highest conditioned horses in southwest Ohio.
Batavia Downs starts 2023 with a $17,500 guarantee Monday
It has been decades since Batavia Downs hosted a winter race meet at the oldest lighted harness track in North America, but that all changes on Monday (Jan. 9) when the 2023 harness racing season gets underway in Western New York. The 15-day session will run through Monday (Feb. 27) and operate on a Monday-Thursday schedule. Post time for each race day is set at 3 p.m.
