Last call for Au Revoir retirees; three-day weekend at Cumberland
For the fourth season in a row, First Tracks Cumberland will present the Au Revoir Retirement Showcase, slated for Saturday (Dec. 21). The event is open to 14-year-old horses that are racing or have retired within the last four years, and have Maine connections.
Ray Cable to receive Lifetime Achievement Award from UNY-USHWA
The Upstate New York Chapter of the United States Harness Writers Association is proud to announce that longtime western New York blacksmith Ray Cable will be given their 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award for his over 60 years of work and dedication to the horses who raced at Batavia Downs.
Breedings sought to benefit New Vocations
New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program is currently organizing its 27th annual stallion auction to be held via OnGait.com Feb. 4-6, 2025. The Standardbred Transition Alliance accredited charity offers retiring racehorses and broodmares a safety-net through rehabilitation, retraining, and placement in carefully screened and monitored homes.
