With a record 24 Breeders Crown eliminations in the books from the weekend, here are the final fields for the $6 million Breeders Crown finals on Sat. (Oct. 27).
Dover Downs 2018–2019 season opening information
Dover Downs’ first draw takes place Tuesday (Oct. 30) for races on the 2018-2019 season’s opening day, Monday (Nov. 5). The Dover Downs Race Office will accept entries from 9-10 a.m.
‘She’s definitely all that’
A pacing mare has never won a million dollars in a single season, but that could change in the coming weeks thanks to Shartin N. The 5-year-old Shartin N has won 17 of 22 races this season and earned $833,361. She races Saturday (Oct. 27) in the $270,000 Breeders Crown Mare Pace at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono and could surpass Dreamfair Eternal’s seasonal earnings record for a pacing mare of $925,575 set in 2010 as well as move nearer the million-dollar mark.

Gregg Keidel wins Billings Trot at Northfield on Sunday
On Sunday evening (Oct. 21), ten trotters went to post in a mid-region Billings trot at Northfield Park and after studying the races betting patterns only three horses had a legitimate shot at victory and two were sent away by the betting public at odds of less than 2-1 with the third at 9-2 and when the judges posted the official sign Nashville Holiday and driver Gregg “Fast Greggy” Keidel (9-5) walked away with all the marbles.
Simons wins 4,000th, Lucan Hanover wins on opening night at Pompano
Pompano Park kicked off its 2018-2019 season on Sunday night (Oct. 21) with driver Mike Simons earning his 4000th career win and Lucan Hanover eking out a photo finish win in the feature.

PHHA to begin accepting clubhouse reservations for owners with horses in Breeders Crown finals
Owners with entries in the Breeders Crown finals at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono on Saturday (Oct. 27) may confirm their reservations in Pacers Clubhouse beginning Monday (Oct. 22) at 9 a.m. by calling the PHHA offices at 570.831.2129. For each horse, owners may reserve one table of four. Tables will be assigned by lottery and requests for specific tables cannot be accommodated. Requests for additional tables may be honored on a first-come, first-served basis but only if extra tables become available due to cancellations. The clubhouse is open strictly to owners and their invited guests; it is not available to other horsemen or the general public. Check-in will begin at 4 p.m. Post time is 5:30 p.m.
