Batavia, NY – Kevin Cummings, who was Batavia Downs’ leading driver of 2022, moved back into first place for dash victories in 2023 after winning six of the 11 races programmed on Thursday afternoon (Feb.2) including winning five in a row from race three to race seven.

Dover, DE – Divine Deo utilized the passing lane and won the Mares Open Handicap Pace at Bally’s Dover on Wednesday (Jan. 25) night.

East Rutherford, NJ – It wasn’t Independence Day, but there were plenty of fireworks going off at The Meadowlands Sunday afternoon.

Columbus, OH – Members from the United States Trotting Association’s District 3 gathered on Sunday (January 22) at the Hilton Arden West in Sacramento, California for the district’s annual meeting. Helmed by district chairman Ivan Axelrod and fellow directors Ben Kenney and David Siegel, the session saw the group debate 18 rule changes and three bylaw proposals. In the end, 10 were accepted and 10 were rejected, with one submission tabled for further discussion. Axelrod was re-elected to another terms as district chairman.

Dover, DE – Penzance Hanover splashed through heavy rains and a sloppy race track to win the Blue Hen Handicap Pace at Bally’s Dover on Thursday (Jan. 19) night.

Batavia, NY – A beaten favorite last week due to an untimely break, The Stunning Nun N bounced back in strong fashion, once again as the public’s choice – to win the $13,000 Open I Handicap Distaff pace at Batavia Downs on Thursday afternoon (Jan. 19) despite considerably inclement weather and over a sloppy track.

Lebanon, OH – Sandy Sue is aging like a fine wine! The 8-year-old black daughter of Shark Gesture showed eight younger adversaries how it’s done in Miami Valley’s $30,000 Mares Open Handicap on Thursday (Jan.19), winning in 1:53.3 as the lukewarm favorite.

Howell, MI – Lying in Cash (Aracache Hanover) captured Michigan’s Aged Pacer of the Year honors and shared in the Headliner Award honors with fellow aged pacer Catch Me Conrad. Lying in Cash had 10 wins in 2022, eight of those at the Open level at Northville Downs, and earned over $68,000 in Michigan earnings. Lying In Cash has been given a short vacation from racing and will resume his 2023 campaign this Spring and Summer at Northville Downs.
