    Italian trotter, Vivid Wise As is very fond of racing at the Cagnes sur Mer track. Saturday evening Vivid Wise As with his trainer Alessandro Gocciadoro in the bike won the Grand Prix du Departement des Alpes Maritimes for the second year in a row and back in March, he won the other big mile race at Cagnes sur Mer, the Grand Criterium de Vitesse.
  • Kentucky Sire Stake action

    Lexington, KY - Three-year-old pacers were in action for Sunday's (Aug 23) Kentucky Sire Stakes at The Red Mile. Caliber with driver David Miller left quickly out of the gate to take control and drew off to win by two lengths in a lifetime best 1:48.4, with a last quarter in :26. The 3-year-old gelding by Sweet Lou - Allstar Rating is owned by Diamond Creek Racing and is trained by Ron Burke.
  • Arnold N Dicky sets stake mark, helps Palone to PASS sweep

    Washington, PA - Arnold N Dicky overcame an awkward first quarter and powered to victory in a stake record 1:54.2 in Wednesday’s $204,720 Pennsylvania Sires Stake at The Meadows. Fly Light captured the other division, giving Dave Palone a sweep of the stake for freshman colt and gelding trotters known as the Florida Pro. Both splits were conducted as off-the-card, non-wagering events.
  • Shezallapples A upsets favorites in Philly feature

    Chester, PA – A hard rainstorm came through southeast Pennsylvania just before the $11,600 featured pace on Wednesday afternoon (Aug.12) at Harrah’s Philadelphia, turning the track to “sloppy +2,” and when the feature was raced, the stretch battle between the two even-money favorites had that apple-cart upset by the Sportswriter mare Shezallapples A, who rallied up the inside for a 1:50.3 victory despite the off going.
  • Party Girl Hill with giant PASS victory at Pocono Sunday

    Wilkes-Barre, PA - The progression of Party Girl Hill from “precocious newcomer” to “potential monster” took another significant step during the Sunday twilight card at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono, when the three-year-old Captaintreacherous pacing filly won her $93,542 division of the third prelim of her division’s Pennsylvania Sire Stakes in 1:49, 2/5 of a second off the world record in only the sixth start of her undefeated career.
  • KJ Leo wins Tioga feature

    KJ Leo (Jim Taggert Jr.) charges late to capture the $6,500 featured pace at Tioga Downs on Sunday (August 9). Catcha Lefty A (Mike Merton) went straight to the front but Harry Terror (Wally Hennessey) went by and took the lead just before hitting the first quarter in :27.3. Harry Terror used a :28.3 second quarter to hit the half first in :56.1. Gibbs (Bruce Aldrich Jr.) was the first to make a move down the backstretch but stalled getting into third. Harry Terror looked firmly in control as he hit three-quarters in 1:23.3.
