Nichols, NY — Believer (Ridge Warren) takes the $10,000 featured trot at Tioga Downs on Saturday (June 1).

Heavens Pic (Aaron Byron) led to the quarter in :27.4.  Believer ($8.20) came first-up to take control with a lap to go.  He led to the half in :57.4.  Conrad Dipoggio It (Mike Merton) was first to make a move but couldn’t get close to Believer.  Believer led to three-quarters in 1:26.3.

As they reached the stretch, second-place finisher Heavens Pic came all out after the lead, but Believer was too strong and won in 1:57..  Makadushin N Cheez (Bruce Aldrich Jr.) finished third.

Believer is a 6-year-old gelding by Cantab Hall.  Trained by Randy Taft for owners Mali Norbye and Arnold Witkin.  It was his third win this season.  He now has 25 career wins.

Ridge Warren had a driving hat trick. Braxten Boyd had a driving double.

Live racing returns to Tioga Downs on Sunday (June 2) with a 15-race card featuring New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) 3-year-old pacing fillies starting at 1 p.m.
