Big week for trainer Joseph Vance

from the USTA Communications Department

Columbus, OH — Trainer Joseph Vance of Westbury, N.Y., is in the middle of a week to remember.

The 59-year-old conditioner, who trains a stable of six on the East Coast, is currently enjoying a five-race winning streak after his horse Fortissimo won the second race $10,000 conditioned trot on Wednesday afternoon (August 15) at Harrah’s Philadelphia.

Vance’s streak began last Friday (August 10) when Holly Hill Master won a $23,000 conditioned trot at Yonkers Raceway. Later that same evening, Cathy’s Princess was victorious in a $14,000 conditioned trot at Meadowlands Racetrack.

The streak reached three on Sunday (August 12) at Harrah’s Philadelphia when Get Down Tonight was a winner in a $14,000 claiming handicap pace.

Then on Monday night (August 13) at Yonkers, New York Muscle had his photo taken in a $13,000 conditioned trot at Yonkers.

Vance will look to extend his streak when Holly Hill Master returns to action this Friday night (August 17) in a $31,000 conditioned trot at Yonkers.
