Bloomsburg races cancelled for Monday and Tuesday

Bloomsburg, PA — The last round of preliminaries in Pennsylvania Fair Sire Stakes competition, scheduled for Monday and Tuesday at the Bloomsburg Fair, have had to be cancelled due to unsafe track conditions caused by a perfect storm of hindering factors, with no quick repair methods ensuring both equine and human safety available.

All unscratched entrants will receive an equal share of the purse after their starting fee is paid.

All unscratched entrants will receive three points in the Pennsylvania Fair Championship standings, from which the top horses will qualify for the $200,000 Pennsylvania Fair Championship Night at The Meadows on Saturday evening (Oct. 5).

The points, and the splitting of any ties by calculating how much money a horse has earned on the fair circuit, are being finalized Monday afternoon and should be released Tuesday, along with a listing of those horses whose current point totals would get them in the finals directly should they choose to enter (and the “bubble” horses, hoping someone is not going to race).
