Columbus, OH — Kentucky horseman Bobby Miller, 82, the former vice chairman at Millennium Farms in Lexington, Ky., died Dec. 29, 2022.
Mr. Miller died following a long battle with cancer at his home on the Millennium Farm’s property in Lexington.
A third-generation horseman following his father and grandfather, who both worked with Saddlebreds, Mr. Miller ventured into the Thoroughbred industry when Walmac founder Johnny Jones offered Mr. Miller a management job at his Lexington farm. Prior to that, Mr. Miller had spent 12 years working for the Standardbred operation Avondale Farm. Avondale was owned by Barry Epstein, well-known as the breeder and owner of the brilliant pacing colt Sonsam.
Despite leaving the Standardbred world, Mr. Miller often visited the Red Mile to catch the fall Grand Circuit races.
