Columbus, OH — Bonnie L. Kern, 95, of Chillicothe, Ohio, died Oct. 10, 2023, following a brief illness.

She was born Sept. 29, 1928, in Pike County, Ohio, to the late Guy and Margaret Voelker Brammer. On July 22, 1950, she married Wayne Kern who died July 5, 2012.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Garnet Brammer; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Adams; and a brother, James W. Brammer.

Mrs. Kern was a 1946 graduate of Beaver High School. She was employed as the executive secretary for the United States Trotting Association, retiring after 42 years of service.

She and her husband shared a strong interest in horses and were participants at many shows, along with their beloved dog, Chelsea.

Mrs. Kern was a member of the Frankfort Baptist Church in Frankfort, Ohio. She acknowledged the steadfast and enduring friendship and love of Pastor Paul and Mary Winks, whose devotion was always strong and present.

Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday (Oct. 17) in the Ware Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Winks officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Ridge Cemetery, Beaver, Ohio. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to 12 noon prior to the service on Tuesday.
