Saratoga Springs, NY — Gary Levine trainee Bontz N, who had won four consecutive installments of the Fillies and Mares Open at Saratoga Casino Hotel earlier in the season, added another one to her tally with a 1:55.1 score in Tuesday afternoon’s (Oct. 13) $9,350 distaff feature at the Spa.

Billy Dobson sent the 9-year-old American Ideal mare to the early lead, clicking off a :27.3 first quarter before rating a :57 half over a sloppy track. Bontz N was met with her first challenge approaching three-quarters in 1:25.4, but she made easy work of the first-over Birch Island Betty before holding strong in the stretch and besting Racine Bell (Jimmy DeVaux) by three-quarters of a length. Pocket rival Pasultimatedelite N (Jay Randall) finished third.

Bontz N, who returned $3.20 to win, accounted for one of three wins on the program for her connections. Levine and Dobson teamed up with owner April Aldrich to also win with JK Heaven Sent and Western Beachboy.

Live racing at Saratoga Casino Hotel takes place every Monday and Tuesday afternoon, with first post time set for 12 noon.
