Truth And Liberty thwarts bevy of Meadows challengers
October 13, 2020,Washington, PA — Truth And Liberty threw down a :26.1 opening panel and then thwarted a host of challengers to capture Tuesday’s (Oct. 13) feature at The Meadows, a $10,800 conditioned pace for fillies and mares.
Nearly every horse in the field came after Truth And Liberty down the backside — they were stacked three-wide at the three-quarters. But the 8-year-old daughter of Total Truth and Jazzy Hall responded to Hunter Myers’ urging and, despite bearing out in deep stretch, held firm in 1:51.1. Lakeisha Hall finished second, a length back, while Hedges Avenue A shot the Lightning Lane for show.
Lonnie Graber trains Truth And Liberty, who lifted her lifetime bankroll to $546,482, for Fairy Horsemother Stables.
Dave Palone piloted three winners on the 13-race card.
Live racing at The Meadows continues Wednesday (Oct. 14), when the 13-race program features a $65,540 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5 and a $750.97 carryover in the Pick-5, which begins in race eight. First post is 12:45 p.m.
