Yonkers, NY — George Brennan, Yonkers Raceway’s leading driver, did nothing to diminish his social standing on Tuesday night (June 28). Brennan won seven races from 11 drives on the 12-race card.
After finishing sixth in the opener, Brennan authored his own consecutive Pick-4.

New York Mets World Series hero Ron Swoboda presents a trophy to George Brennan after his fourth race win behind K Slater.
He began with the $14,000 second race trot and odds-on Cherry Tree Luke ($3.60), getting the mile and one-sixteenth in 2:05. Brennan then won the $12,000 third race pace with General McArdle ($9.90) in an added-distance 2:03 and the $17,000 fourth race pace with K Slater ($9.50) in 2:02.2 for the extra yardage. Next for Brennan was prohibitive favorite M D Bee Bee ($2.50) in the $17,000 fifth race pace (added-distance 2:00.2) before finishing second in the sixth race.
He was back at it in the $14,000 seventh race pace, with public choice Dr D’s Escape ($3.20, added-distance 2:01.1), then had the nerve to sit out the eighth.
Brennan was a going-away, off-the-pace winner with Cosmicpedia ($5.20) in the $14,000 ninth race pace (2:02), then finished third and sixth, respectively, in races 10 and 11.
He wrapped up the evening in the $20,000 12th race pace with Art’s Shadow ($2.80), who won his sixth consecutive race while negotiating the added distance in 2:00.4.
During Brennan’s sublet of the winner’s circle, he was greeted by New York Mets’ 1969 World Series hero Ron Swoboda. The right fielder, whose broad-daylight robbery of Brooks Robinson is etched in Gotham lore, was on hand for a Q-and-A autograph session with fans and made a presentation to the winner of race No. 4 (his old uniform number).
