Grove City, OH – The Delaware County Fairgrounds is hosting the fifth and final leg of the 2025 Buckeye Stallion Series for sophomores during its five-day meet from Sept. 14-18.
The action kicks off with the filly trotters on Monday (Sept. 15). The male trotters will take the track on Tuesday (Sept. 16), and the male and filly pacers will follow on Thursday (Sept. 18).
Sweet Rose’ leads the 3-year-old filly trotter standings with 141 points. A Marseille filly, she posted BSS wins in the first leg in 1:59.1 and fourth leg in 1:56.3. She was a runner-up in the second leg and placed third in the third leg. Up, a winner in the opening leg, is second in the standings with 104 points followed by Travel Nurse, who won in the fourth leg, with 103 points. Two-leg winners In The End and Pelican Hanover are close behind with 102 points each.
Two-time BSS winners Rose Run Ari and I Stand Alone As are tied atop the standings for 3-year-old male trotters. Triumphant Caviar gelding Rose Run Ari posted wins in the first leg in 1:55.1 and third leg in 1:56.1. I Stand Alone As, an Enterprise gelding, won in the first leg in 1:57.3 and third leg in 1:58.2. Shoot Some Hoop, a winner in the third leg, and Letsgotoparis, a winner in the second and third legs, are tied for third in the standings with 112 points each.
Woodrow Blue Chip holds a narrow lead in the 3-year-old male pace standings. The Lather Up gelding has 129 points followed by Fly High Cruiser in second with 120 points and Johnny Up in third with 115 points. Woodrow Blue Chip won a division in the opening leg in 1:52.3 and was a runner-up in each of the next three legs. Fly High Cruiser and Johnny Up are each two-time BSS winners, posting victories in the second and third legs.
Bubblles Out is tops among 3-year-old filly pacers in the BSS this season. The Downbytheseaside filly posted wins in the first leg in 1:53.1, second leg in 1:51.2, and third leg in 1:53.3 and leads the standings with 153 points. Two-time BSS winners Survivin Fire and Anna Loves Bananas are second and third in the standings with 116 and 112 points, respectively. Survivin Fire won in the second and fourth legs, and Anna Loves Bananas won in the third and fourth legs.
Highlighted by the 80th Little Brown Jug on Thursday (Sept. 18) and the 55th Jugette on Wednesday (Sept. 17), the Delaware County Fair meet also includes all eight divisions of the Ohio Breeders Championship, which is the second leg of the Ohio Triple Crown, and the fifth leg of the Buckeye Stallion Series for freshmen.
The Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association (OHHA) will provide livestreaming coverage of “Five Days in Delaware” featuring Trackside Live and Countdown To Post Time segments as well as race coverage and analysis, interviews, and features. Freshmen Head to Delaware for Fifth Leg of Buckeye Stallion Series
The Delaware County Fairgrounds is hosting the fifth and final leg of the 2025 Buckeye Stallion Series for freshmen during its five-day meet from Sept. 14-18.
The action kicks off with the filly pacers on Sunday (Sept. 14) followed by the filly trotters on Monday (Sept. 15). The male trotters will take the track on Tuesday (Sept. 16), and the male pacers will follow on Wednesday (Sept. 17).
Eyes Up leads the 2-year-old filly pace standings with 154 points. The Lather Up filly has two BSS wins this season, taking a division in the first leg in 1:56.4 and the second leg in 1:54.4. She was a runner-up in the third and fourth legs. Queen Valerie, a winner in the second and fourth legs, is second in the standings with 128 points, and Madetorockette who won in the first and fourth legs, is third with 111 points.
Judy’s Moni is the top 2-year-old filly trotter in the BSS through four legs. The Ready For Moni filly posted wins in the first leg in 1:57.2, second leg in 1:59.4, and fourth leg in 2:00 and was a runner-up in the third leg. She leads the standings with 179 points followed by Joyofmylife As with 153 points and Chasingstardust As and Hangtighthoney L with 128 points each. Joyofmylife As has wins in three of the four legs thus far, while Chasingstardust As and Hangtighthoney L each have two BSS wins on the season.
Ready Made and Okay One More are both two-time winners in the BSS for 2-year-old male trotters. A Ready For Moni gelding, Ready Made posted wins in the first leg in 2:06.2 and third leg in 1:59.4 and leads the standings with 115 points. A winner in the second and third legs, Okay One More is second in the standings with 90.5 points followed by Eckert Hill Brady in third with 84 points.
Three-leg winner Hunka Hunka and two-leg winner Odds On Phil are tied atop the standings for 2-year-old colt pacers with 154 points each. A Catch The Fire colt, Hunka Hunka posted wins in the first leg in 1:56, third leg in 1:55.4, and fourth leg in 1:52.3. Odds On Phil, a Lather Up colt, recorded wins in the second leg in 1:53 and fourth leg in 1:53.2 and was a runner-up in the first and third legs.
