Bucyrus Matinee Club’s annual matinee set for June 2

Bucyrus, OH — The Bucyrus Matinee Club will be hosting its annual matinee on June 2 at 11 a.m.

This event will be held at the Crawford County Fairgrounds in Bucyrus, Ohio.

We welcome all trainers to bring your horses for gate schooling with time bar classes. Classes will be 2:30-2:05 for each gait, trot and pace, with an entry fee of $25 per horse.

Or if you are a young driver that wants to get some schooling behind the gate you are welcome as well.

We do ask that trainers, when putting your horses in the box, you put them in the class that they fit; there will be a donation of $50 to the matinee club if you break the time bar by more than five full seconds.

Also, there will be gate schooling at the end of the races for horses that didn’t want to go into a time bar race. All time bar races will be schooled a half-mile before they go their mile.

There will be a food truck on the backside along with raffles and programs for sale. The public is welcome as the grandstand will be open and Doug Ballinger will be calling the races for the matinee program.

All horsemen and women shipping in are asked to please use the shedrow stalls.

All entries will be taken by phone or text at 419.569.7008 (if text, list gate, sex, class and trainer/driver). Entry date is May 31 from 9-11 a.m.
