Buffalo Pick-7 carryover nears $30,000

by Gabe Prewitt, for Buffalo Raceway

Hamburg, NY — Even with four solid opportunities to nail down the Buffalo Raceway Pick-7 last week, the wager has eluded the public once again. The carryover stands at $29,748 heading into Wednesday (May 1).

Fans connected on six of seven on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night, yet the carryover somehow managed to escape on each program.

Friday night had one lucky fan staring at a ‘pool shot’ of over $27,000 if Tremendous Hanover, the 3-1 second choice, could have been victorious in the 12th race finale. The gelding ended up finishing a dull sixth, while the race was won wire-to-wire by the 9-5 favorite, Puppetandmee N. The consolation payout, for six of seven, returned $279.

Track management has added to the excitement of the Pick-7 on each program, by announcing the number of live tickets remaining at the conclusion of each leg.

The Pick-7 is a $2 minimum wager held nightly on races 6–12.

Live racing continues at Buffalo Raceway on Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 5 p.m., with Friday and Saturday first post at 6:40 p.m.
