It’s auction week in France.
On Monday (Sept. 1), the auction house Auctav held a mixed auction, and on Tuesday (Sept. 2), it was Selected Sales and Arqana-Trot, who for the second year organized an sale of international yearlings in Deauville.
On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, (Sept. 3-5) Arqana-Trot is holding the usual sale where some of France’s best yearlings are sold.
At Monday’s mixed sale, the 3-year-old Moneytime Flac (sired by Face Time Bourbon) topped with a price of 260,000 Euros. Moneytime Flac has started 10 times, won five races, and set a record of 1.58.2. He was sold to an owner with trainer Vincent Martens.
At the international yearling auction in Deauville, the top price was 270,000 Euros for a colt, Olympik Josselyn, sired by Calgary Games. The buyer was Norwegian Erik Dahl.
At the sale, a half-brother to Ecurie D 1.49.1 – $1,516,807 – Gaddar (sired by Ready Cash) was bought back for 340,000 Euros. The average price at the auction was 46,517 Euros, up from last year’s 43,069 Euros. However, only 29 yearlings were sold this year compared to 51 last year.
