Busy weekend at Harrah’s Philadelphia

by Mike Bozich, for Harrah’s Philadelphia

Chester, PA — It’s a big Belmont Stakes weekend planned at Harrah’s Philadelphia. There will be live racing on Saturday (June 11) with a first post of 12:40 p.m.

After the live racing card is over, patrons are urged to stick around to watch and wager on the Belmont Stakes.

A terrific card is lined up for Sunday at Harrah’s Philadelphia, getting underway at 12:40 p.m. There are two divisions of a non-winners of $20,500 in their last five starts on the pace, each going for a purse of $17,500.

The first division (race six) features Bellino and Son’s Casimir Jitterbug. The 9-year-old gelded son of Sir Luck is coming off of an easy win in a non-winners of $15,000 last week at Harrah’s Philly. He has made more than $858,000 in his career, and is a 48-time winner.

The second division (race 12) features West Wins Stable’s Lucan Hanover starting from post one. The 6-year-old gelded son of Western Ideal has won more than $883,000 and is a 22-time winner. Competition is plentiful, however, as 26-time winner Mcerlean (post three) and the red-hot Ron Burke charge Hawk’s Red Chief (six of eight in the win column this season) are sure to make a splash.

The Riverview Terrace will be open for lunch from 12-4 p.m. every Sunday between now and July 3. For reservations, call 610.874.5200.
