Illinois previews slated for May, June
A preview will be held for 3-year-olds and up Illinois-bred horses on Wednesday, May 13 at the Illinois State Fairgrounds. The total purse payout for the day will be $57,000. A preview for 2-year-old Illinois-bred horses will be held on Thursday, June 11th at the Illinois State Fairgrounds. The total purse payout will be $38,000. Entry fees for Springfield-based trainers will be $50 for purse races and $35 for qualifiers. Entry fees for non-Springfield-based trainers will be $65 for purse races and $50 for qualifiers. Post time for both days is 11:00 a.m.

Maryland legislative update
Legislation that would loosen access to capital improvement funds and in turn strengthen live racing guarantees was the subject of a March 11 hearing in the Maryland Senate Budget and Taxation Committee. A companion bill has been filed in the House of Delegates.
