Total handle, purses, wagering per race and per betting interest in the United States all increased while the number of race days decreased slightly in 2019 compared to 2018.

Endeavor takes Big M feature
It was about two months ago when the Jeff Cullipher trained Endeavor pulled off an 11-1 upset in the Nov. 10, $100,000 Potomac Invitational Pace at Maryland’s Rosecroft Raceway, defeating some tough customers such as Dealt A Winner, American History, Dorsoduro Hanover and Courtly Choice. After that, he failed to hit the wire first in his next four outings, but Saturday night (Jan. 4) at the Meadowlands, the 7-year-old gelded son of American Ideal-Jett Diamond found his way back to the winner’s circle, taking the $25,000 featured high-range conditioned pace in 1:50.3.
Granite is solid at Miami Valley
Granite, the ultra-consistent 7-year-old son of Real Desire, paced the fastest mile of the meet thus far winning the $30,000 Open Handicap Pace on Saturday (Jan. 4) at Miami Valley Raceway in 1:52.4.
