Mohawk Park season ends with series finals and presentations
Woodbine Mohawk Park concluded its 2019 racing season with the traditional Boxing Day matinee on a foggy Thursday (Dec. 26). The C$35,000 Valedictory and C$35,000 Niagara for 3-year-old pacers headlined the 12-race program along with presentations to the season’s leading owner, trainer and driver.

Freehold salutes older horses Saturday
With mandatory retirements for 14-year-old horses approaching on Dec. 31, tracks all over the country are holding celebrations of the hard-knocking veterans of the sport. Freehold Raceway is no different, as they will play host to the “Free-Old” Pace on Saturday (Dec. 28). The race is restricted to horses 11 years old or older, and was invite-only.
