Delray Dude is overpowering in Meadows series opener
Delray Dude overpowered the field in a 1:52.4 victory in Friday’s (March 8) opening leg of the Walter Russell Memorial Pace at The Meadows. Dew A Little Dance survived a late rally by Touch Of The West in the other $12,500 division of the event for 3- and 4-year-old colts, stallions and geldings.

Big M, Woodbine Entertainment to team up for Can-Am Pick-4
A pair of harness racing giants — The Meadowlands and Woodbine Entertainment — are joining forces to create a wager certain to titillate the palate of any punter when the “Can-Am Pick-4” makes its debut on Friday (March 22). As the name suggests, the wager requires players to select the winners of four races from Canada and America. Two of those races will take place at the mile oval in East Rutherford, N.J., with the other pair to be contested at Woodbine Mohawk Park, the seven-eighths-mile track in Milton, Ont.

Since 1982 when he and his dad opened Cameo Hills Farm in New York, Jones has named horses after famous athletes, movie lines, catch phrases and fictional characters. Many have stuck, some were changed upon sale, but all featured that trademark Jones whimsy.
