Despite heavy rains and sloppy track conditions, there was some great harness racing at Running Aces on Friday night (September 19) which included four  Minnesota-sired Consolation races and three Open Handicap events. 

The Down East faithful will transition from Farmington to the 153rd annual Cumberland Fair on Sunday (Sept. 21) with eight harness races programmed at the iconic Southern Maine oval.

Bettors Donttell (Brad Irvine) captured the $7,500 featured pace at Vernon Downs on Friday (September 19).

Kentucky Commonwealth Series champion Strangerinthenight sold Friday afternoon at onGait.com for $100,000.

Shenandoah Downs, which enters weekend number two of its seven-week fall harness racing season, will host a round of Virginia Sire Stakes races for the first time ever – for 2-year-olds – on both Saturday and Sunday. 

David Banks’ homebred Ragtime Red extended her win streak to six with a lifetime-best 1:51.2 effort in Thursday’s (Sept. 18) $12,000 Fillies and Mares Open Handicap Pace at Rosecroft Raceway.
