To honor a man who dedicated his life to the sport and whose face and voice were the most recognized in the history of harness racing, The Meadowlands has seen fit to add his name to the featured events taking place this Saturday (July 5) night at The Big M, as the Stan Bergstein Graduate finals take place with a pair of $230,000 events for 4-year-olds, one for pacers and one for trotters.

There were no winning Pick-5 tickets on the Wednesday evening (July 2) program. The carryover of $5,676 is rolled over to Saturday (July 5).

Due to the overwhelming response in the entry box, the 2nd leg of the 3-year-old Kentucky Sire Stakes originally slated for Monday (July 7) will be rescheduled for Tuesday (July 8).

Monticello Raceway announced that it will be conducting a double draw on Wednesday (July 3), for Tuesday (July 8) and Wednesday (July 9).

Harrah’s Philadelphia is currently seeking an assistant race secretary.

Ocean Downs is announcing the addition of an additional race day, Tuesday, Aug. 5, with first race post set for 6:40 p.m. (EDT).

The Meadowlands Racetrack kicks off July with Fan Appreciation Night on Saturday (July 5). From 6 to 11 p.m., fans can grab $1 hot dogs, pretzels, popcorn, soda, and $2 draft beer at the Café, on the Victory Terrace, and in the Backyard. Guests are encouraged to stay after the races for the free fireworks display. 

Per the Presiding Judge, all driver changes for the Governor’s Day card, July 17, at Harrington Raceway will be due by 3 p.m. Monday afternoon, July 14.

Weather permitting, qualifiers will be held at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield on Thursday (July 3). Post time will be 11 a.m.
