Woodbine Entertainment today announced the 2022 Standardbred racing season at Woodbine Mohawk Park generated a record all-sources handle of $444,171,816.92.

It has been decades since Batavia Downs hosted a winter race meet at the oldest lighted harness track in North America, but that all changes on Monday (Jan. 9) when the 2023 harness racing season gets underway in Western New York. The 15-day session will run through Monday (Feb. 27) and operate on a Monday-Thursday schedule. Post time for each race day is set at 3 p.m.

Sacramento, CA – With another strong storm hitting Sacramento Saturday night, Sunday night’s program at Cal Expo has been cancelled.

Due to the recent strong storms and related track issues, Cal Expo management has canceled Friday night’s (Jan. 6) program.

Stall applications for the 2023 live harness racing season at Buffalo Raceway are now available to horsemen through various sources.

Horse people at The Raceway will have a chance to celebrate the track’s top performers of 2022 with the return of its annual awards night on Saturday (Feb. 25). The event will take place this year at the Top Of The Fair dining room, featuring an awards ceremony, dinner and dancing to follow.

Given the fact that The Meadowlands has been carding 13 races a night for a majority of the last year or so, it’s a pretty good bet that what will transpire this weekend (Jan. 6-7) has never happened before as the mile oval will present 14 races this Friday and Saturday (post time, 6:20 p.m.), and each of those 28 dashes will feature full 10-horse fields if there are no scratches.

Meadowlands Racetrack hosts live harness racing every Friday and Saturday through the winter with a 6:20 p.m. post time.
