The Meadowlands’ upcoming SRF races for 3-year-olds will get underway on Friday (March 31) with trotting and pacing fillies set to race in the $20,000 first of three preliminary legs with the pacing and trotting colts scheduled for Saturday (April 1).

During a year where much has been made of the big betting numbers being put up at The Meadowlands, last weekend (March 3-4) cleared handle hurdles not reached in at least the last decade at the mile oval.

Woodbine Mohawk Park management would like to inform all horsepeople that this week’s qualifying session has been moved from Friday (March 10) to Saturday (March 11) due to expected inclement weather.

Ontario Racing is announcing that Flamboro Downs is increasing purses by 15 percent effective Saturday (March 11).

On Monday (March 6), Saratoga Harness set a single day handle record of $632,000, eclipsing the previous record of $587,000, set on Sept. 16, 2006.
