Breeders Crown supplementals and entries fast approaching
The entry box for supplements to the 3-year-old and older Breeders Crown races and for all eligible horses to declare in to the $7.2 million year-end championship events at Eldorado Scioto Downs Racetrack, Columbus, Ohio, closes next week.
Meadows Monday Memo
Friday (Oct. 9) night’s card at The Meadows will feature the $200,000 Pennsylvania Fair Finals, with a special post of 5:10 p.m. Eight $25,000 divisions will be held, bringing together the top point-earners from the state’s county fair circuit. Action began in late June at Butler, PA and ended two weeks ago in Bloomsburg. Wednesday (Oct. 7) and Thursday (Oct. 8) action this week will begin at the regular 12:45 p.m., post time.

Clarifying Meadowlands yearling eligibility
For anyone interested in competing in the big events at the Meadowlands during 2027, it is imperative that they are aware that only yearlings from stallions nominated on Feb. 15, 2026, are eligible to race at the mile oval.
Two carryovers, guaranteed Pick-5 pool at Batavia Wednesday
After no one hit the Pick-5 wager at Batavia Downs on Saturday (Sept. 26), there is a $696 carryover for that wager in the first race on Wednesday (Sept. 30) and the management of Batavia Downs has announced that the pool will be guaranteed at $3,000 through the United States Trotting Association’s Strategic Wagering program.
