Chance for part ownership of a Wisconsin Fair racehorse

from the Bucket List Racing Stable and Wisconsin Harness Horse Association

Waukesha, WI — Have you ever dreamed of owning a racehorse? One Wisconsin horse trainer has worked tirelessly to make that dream a reality.

“For the rest of the summer racing season in Wisconsin, individuals can purchase a two percent share of a 5-year old pacer named Do Me Bliss,” explains trainer Susan Schroeder. “By setting up a public partnership, folks can own a piece of a real racehorse for just $50, with no other expenses.”

Do Me Bliss is a 5-year-old pacing gelding that has earned $13,950 in his career.

Schroeder created the Bucket List Racing Stable, LLC, so anyone can enjoy the thrill of owning a horse and going to the Wisconsin county fairs to watch it race. Partners can even watch the horse train on some Saturdays at the Walworth County Fairgrounds (Elkhorn) and learn to help care for the horse.

Owners will also receive a membership certificate, a county fair T-shirt, photo opportunities with their horse, the right to sit in the Bucket List Racing Stable cheering section at the fairs, the chance to be in the winner’s circle for any win photos and the right to brag to all of your friends that you own a racehorse!

“My wife and I got into horse ownership about five years ago by buying five percent of a horse,” says Rick Tittsler. “It was a great way to get started learning about horse racing. We went on to own 10 percent of another horse, 20 percent of a third, and now we own three horses that are in training and our mare just had a foal last month. We have so much fun watching the horses train and following them to the racetracks with the other owners. It’s a real learning experience, great fun and a real family-entertainment value.”

The Wisconsin Harness Horse Association is a non-profit organization that promotes harness racing throughout the state. Wisconsin racing continues July-September at Monroe, Mineral Point, Weyauwega, Elkhorn, Richland Center and Viroqua. There is also the possibility that Do Me Bliss could race at a couple fairs in northern Illinois.

“Susan has taken all of the guesswork out of owning a share of a racehorse,” says Gabe Wand, President of the WHHA. She formed the LLC, formed the stable through the U.S. Trotting Association, cares for the horse and transports the horse to the races; the owners just have to show up and have fun!”
