Charlie May 2022 Ohio Aged Pacer of the Year

Grove City, OH — Another chapter in the amazing story of Charlie May was written in 2022. The 2021 Ohio Horse of the Year became the first Ohio horse in 20 years to win divisional titles as a 2-year-old, a 3-year-old and older pacer, as he was named the 2022 Ohio Aged Pacer of the Year.

The last to accomplish the feat was Noble Cam who was first honored as the Ohio 2-year-old Pacer of the Year in 2001.

He also won the Myron Charna President’s Pace, the Jim Ewart Memorial, and the Ohio Breeders Championship. Charlie May earned $350,018 in 2022.

“It’s been an unbelievable three-year ride,” said Don Tiger. “It means everything to have a horse overcome what he has, including a couple of bumps and bruises and stay that consistent.”

Charlie May will be honored at the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association annual awards banquet Jan. 14 at the Hilton Columbus-Polaris in Columbus, Ohio.

The 2022 Ohio Horse of the Year will be announced at the annual awards banquet.
