Cherry Hill Park and Major Bombay added in final week of silent auction

by Bill Peters

Edgerton, OH — The Defiance County (Ohio) Area Horsemen’s Association has added the trotting stallion Cherry Hill Park (Muscle Hill-Pick Me Up) and the pacing stallion Major Bombay (Art Major-Armbro Bombay) to its list of stallions for their silent auction for stallion breedings. Both stallions stand at Chapel Ridge Farm of Grabill, Ind.

They join two other Indiana trotting stallions and three other Indiana pacing stallions in the auction. Eight Ohio pacing stallions, seven Ohio trotting stallions, one Pennsylvania pacing stallion, one Maryland pacing stallion, and one Maryland trotting stallion are also being offered in the auction.

This is the final week of the auction with bids closing at 7 p.m. on Friday (March 27). At that time, the person with the second-highest bid will have a chance to raise his or her bid. The bidding will continue between the two highest bidders until one drops out.

The winning bidder on each stallion must pay the Defiance County Area Horsemen’s Association 10 percent of the winning bid or $100, which ever is greater, before the mare is bred. The winning bidder must pay the Association the balance of the winning bid when the mare foals in 2016.

Bids on all stallions may be phoned to Bill Peters at 419.298.7408 or e-mailed to trudypeters@williams-net.com.
