Ciuffetelli, Schwartz win NAADA trots at Yonkers

Yonkers, NY — Tony Ciuffetelli, driving Trump This, and Alan Schwartz, driving Awol Hanover, won their respective $10,000 North American Amateur Drivers Association Summer Series trotting events on Thursday (June 9) at Yonkers Raceway.

In the first division, Ciuffetelli and Trump This settled behind Pilgrim Caviar (Joe Lee) and drafted behind fractions of :29.2 and :59.3. Zooming (Tony Verruso) was first to challenge, and although he got alongside the leader nearing three-quarters in 1:28.3, he could not clear. Zooming faded in the stretch, but Trump This rallied up the inside to win by a length in 1:58.2. Pilgrim Caviar held on for second; Zooming was third.
