Click Bait, a 5-year old trotter sired by Cantab Hall, was a very convincing winner of Prince Phillips Jubilee Trophy at Färjestad on Friday afternoon (April 2).

With Per Lennartsson in the bike, Click Bait was in command from the start and won handily in 1.52.2, which is the fastest time so far in Scandinavia this year.

Click Bait had no problem holding the heavy favorite, Don Fanucci Zet with Ôrjan Kihlström, however, this was the first race this season for Don Fanucci Zet.

It was Click Bait’s second race and second win in 2021 and he is now on the short list for the Elitlopp at Solvalla on May 30.

Purchased at the 2016 Standardbred Horse Sale for $30,000, Click Bait is owned and trained by Stefan Melander. He did not compete in the U.S., where he was trained by Marcus Melander, but debuted as a sophomore in Sweden. He was sixth in his debut.

Since then, Click Bait has developed into a top trotter and has now raced 33 times, with 8 wins and $255,000 in purse money.
