Woodstock, VA — Shenandoah’s Director of Racing Mike Wandishin, after consultations with the horsemen, released the 2017 Fall Meeting condition sheet today. He had this to say,

“This sheet should enable any horsemen to enter and competitively race any horses in their barn at Shenandoah Downs. We will try to separate out the claimers this year but they will get raced, regardless. We had wide-ranging support from horsemen from all over the country last year and hope to have the same “melting-pot” this year. All horsemen are invited to try their luck at Shenandoah Downs this year.”

With the deadline for stall applications rapidly approaching, due next Tuesday, August 15 there is still ample stall space available at this time and the stall applications are available on the VHHA website http://www.vhha.net/. At this point a lot of last year’s stars have indicated they will be returning and fans anxiously await the rematch between Last Chance Harvey and B Blissful. The pari-mutuel meet is preceded by the 100th annual Shenandoah County Fair and harness racing will be conducted on Tuesday, August 29. and continue until Saturday, September 2. This will give handicappers a chance to check out the competition early.
