Contest seeks to encourage attendance at fair harness races

Defiance, OH — The Defiance County Area Horsemen’s Association is conducting a seven-for-seven contest to encourage attendance at fair harness races.

The grand prize is two seats in the hospitality tent at the Delaware County Fairgrounds to view the Little Brown Jug on Thursday (September 20). The seats have a value of $480. This entitles the winner to unlimited food and beverage from mid-morning that day through the last heat of racing, with betting machines at their disposal.

To be eligible to win, the player must obtain a card at the first session of harness racing at the Paulding Co. Fair in Paulding, Ohio, on Tuesday (June 12). The card will be punched that day, verifying their presence. Six other racing venues are indicated:

  • Paulding Co.–Wednesday (June 13)
  • Kendallville, IN–Saturday (July 14)
  • Defiance Co.–Tuesday (August 21)
  • Defiance Co.–Friday (August 24)
  • Williams Co.–Sunday (September 9)
  • Williams Co.–Tuesday (September 11)

Acquiring punches at all seven racing events makes the player eligible for the drawing, which will be held after the last heat of racing on September 11. The runner-ups will be awarded alternate seating for Little Brown Jug Day.

No purchase is required. Must be 18 years or older.
