Creatine, driven by Johnny Takter, finished second in the UET Masters Trot final at Mons in Belgium on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 13). That was his last race in Europe this year and Creatine will now return to the United States, where he will join the Jimmy Takter stable.

Mosaique Face won the UET Masters Trot final on Sunday.

Creatine had to start from the second tier behind the gate in the Masters final and was third at the pylons after half of the race. The distance was 2,300 meters or 1-7/16th miles.

Mosaique Face, driven by Lutfi Kolgjini, was in command with On Track Piraten, driven by Erik Adielsson, outside him. At the half the favorite BBS Sugarlight, driven by Peter Untersteiner, attacked, and had to go three wide.

Johnny Takter lifted Creatine out behind On Track Piraten and going around the last corner, Takter waited for BBS Sugarlight to fade, so he could make his move.

It happened, but too late and even though Creatine finished fast he was not able to catch Mosaique Face, who won by two lengths in 1:53.4f (mile rate) while Creatine was timed in 1:54f.

The purse for the winner was $228,000, while Creatine picked up a check for $114,000.
