Lebanon, OH – Damn The Torpedoes went full speed ahead while stepping up in class and winning his second in a row, taking the featured $21,000 Nw6pm at Miami Valley on Monday night (April 6).

Leaving from post one, David Miller floated Damn The Torpedoes off the wings and settled in third as Sam Widger and Johnny Up went for the lead. After the field settled in single file, Damn The Torpedoes pulled from third to make a quick quarter pole strike as they passed the quarter in :28.
There was nothing quick (except the time) about the move to the front as Widger made Miller work for it, with Damn The Torpedoes only clearing as they approached the half turn. Still in gear and now with the lead, Damn The Torpedoes led them past the half in :54.4, a :26.4 second quarter, and turned up the backside with Johnny Up on his heels and Currys Flurry sitting third.
As they neared three quarters, Johnny Up popped the pocket and quickly drew even with Damn The Torpedoes. Three quarters came and went in 1:23.1, and the two leaders now battled nose to nose around the final turn and to the top of the stretch. With an eighth of a mile to go, Damn The Torpedoes finally turned aside a tiring Johnny Up, opening up and winning by a length and three quarters in 1:51.4. Woodrow Blue Chip rallied for second while Johnny Up held onto third.
For Damn The Torpedoes, it was the fifth lifetime win for the 4-year-old Brian Brown trainee, bringing his career earnings to just over $70,000.
Chris Page had a grand slam while Tyler Smith picked up a driving triple on the Monday night card with David Miller & Sam Widger each recording a double.
Racing returns to Miami Valley on Tuesday (April 7) night with a post time of 4 p.m.
