Deadline for Ontario Sires Stakes sustaining payments extended

from the Ontario Racing Commission

Toronto, ON — The Ontario Racing Commission announced today that the sustaining payment deadline for both the 2- and 3-year-old Standardbred Ontario Sires Stakes has been extended to April 30.

While government and racetrack operators continue their negotiations surrounding transition funding, it was determined through consultation with the Standardbred Advisory Group that an extension of the deadline was necessary.

“We feel that it would not be fair to ask participants to make the payments at this time without having a schedule and more information on the 2013 program,” stated program administrator Wendy Hoogeveen.

All participants are advised that sustaining payments already received or received prior to April 30, will not be deposited until after April 30.

Sustaining payments can be submitted at any time up until the deadline. In absence of a form, the name of the horse should be written on the check or money order made payable to the Ontario Sires Stakes and mailed to: Ontario Sires Stakes, 10 Carlson Court, Suite 400, Toronto, ON M9W 6L2.
