Donald Wolfe, 88, dies

Columbus, OH — Donald Earl Wolfe, 88, of Washington Court House, Ohio, died Nov. 23, 2023, at Court House Manor Nursing Home where he had been residing since May 20, 2023.

Mr. Wolfe was born April 20, 1935, in Fayette County, Ohio, to Earl and Edith Carr Wolfe. He lived most of his life in Fayette County where he was a retired farmer.

He was an avid horseman and loved anything to do with horses, especially breaking horses and calf roping. He had been a longtime member of the Bar W Riding Club. He was an expert woodworker and specialized in making fine furniture.

Following retirement, he also enjoyed gardening and yardwork. He had served in the Ohio Army National Guard.

He is survived by a daughter, Kristi K.; step-children, Dale (Carol) Huffman and Joyce Huffman; step-grandson, Darren Huffman; step-great-grandchildren, Jayden Knuckles and Rylan Huffman; sister, Lora Fay (Don) Snyder; sister-in-law, Roberta; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Donna Jean Yearian on Sept. 26, 1990, and by his second wife, Karen Sue Gerhardt Wolfe on Feb. 11, 2016; brother, Eugene “Gene”; and a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Tom Skeens.

The funeral will be Monday (Nov. 27) at 1:30 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Andrew Hottinger and Doug Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in the Highlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
