Dreaming has won four times in 2011, with earnings of $45,461.

Last week, trainer Bob Young swept the eliminations with his pair of fillies: O K Dynasty and Dreaming. This week, the barn mates will be pitted against each other with son Scott driving O K Dynasty and Roger Mayotte at the reins of Dreaming.

Dreaming’s gate-to-wire performance in an easy 1:54.1 proved to driver Roger Mayotte that his charge will be a tough horse to beat.

“I was really happy with Dreaming in her race last week in the elimination, she was really strong and did it very comfortably,” said Mayotte.

Since her first lifetime start in January 2011, the daughter of Rocknroll Hanover has recorded a record of 4-0-1 in 10 starts and has earned a bankroll of $45,461. However, it was not all-smooth sailing for Dreaming and Mayotte, as there were still a few kinks to work out.

“She has made a few breaks this year, sometimes she touches her knees and when she does she rolls off,” said the Mississauga resident.

Last week’s elimination may have proved to be a turning point for the filly.

“She wears knee spreaders, Bob changed her shoes and it seemed to have made a big difference,” Mayotte said. “It’s something she might grow out of, when she gets a little bigger and stronger.”

Mayotte believes that the filly’s endurance and stamina is what is really going to help her as she is matched up against some tough competition.

“One of her biggest assets is she is very strong, there’s no end to her. She wasn’t tired or bottomed out in the elimination, we took an inside post position so that should help her a lot,” he explained. “She is one to watch in the final.”

Dreaming is owned and bred by Canamerica Capital Corp. and Hyatt Holdings Inc. of Milton.

Tune in on Friday, May 13, to watch Dreaming and the rest of the fillies fight for the title of Woodbine’s Princess Stakes in the fifth race at the Rexdale oval.

The C$80,000 final will line up as follows: 1. Itstimeformetofly, 2. Dreaming, 3. O K Dynasty, 4. Artic Byrd, 5. Highland Candy Bar, 6. Camille, 7. Mater Deo, 8. Cheap N Easy, 9. Lucky Taryn, 10. Mach Lady, AE: Sagebrush Susie.
