Driver Brett Miller captures 9,000th lifetime win

Lebanon, OH — Driver Brett Miller reached another coveted career milestone on Saturday (April 24) at Miami Valley Raceway, capturing his 9,000th lifetime win in the tenth race. In the tightest of photo finishes, Miller guided Water Sports Teen to a short nose score in 1:53 over Red Power (Chris Page) in a conditioned event for non-winners of four races or $40,000.

It was the third win on the day for the 47-year-old purple and white clad reinsman.

Brett’s career began in 1991 with a single drive. He recorded just one win in 1992 and four in 1993 before his career shifted into high gear.

Since 2000, Miller has won more than 200 races for 21 straight years with his highest win total 639 in 2004. He has earned more than $1 million in purses each of those 21 years, including nine years with more than $5 million.

The affable Miller has driven some of the best horses in the sport over the past two decades for some of the sport’s top trainers. He spent over a decade on the east coast before returning to his roots in Ohio in 2018, where he has won 1,068 races in just over two years since.

Miller has won a dash title at both Miami Valley and Hollywood Dayton Raceway since his return to Ohio.

There’s likely more of those in store as he moves toward the next plateau — 10,000 wins!
