Larry Ferrari wins GLADA Trot at Northfield

Northfield, OH — Larry Ferrari got all the marbles Saturday night (April 24) when he won the Great Lakes Amateur Drivers Association Series trot with Go Go George. Together they made every pole a winning one en route to a solid 1:57.4 triumph over eight others.

Sent off as the third choice from the four-hole in the nine horse field, Ferrari took advantage of a miscue at the start by favored Warrior Way (Eddie Miller) and gunned his trotter to the lead and they had command in the :29.3 first quarter.

With Go Go George on the engine, Ferrari got away with a :29.2 second quarter and when they rounded the clubhouse turn the second time around Ferrari put the pedal to the metal and Go Go George opened up daylight on his competitors as they trotted by the third stanza in 1:28.2.

Well in command as they headed for home Ferrari’s trotter was strong all the way to the wire. Lonnie Graber rallied Time Outa Jail from fifth at the three-quarters to trot around Ubanji and driver Don Sherman to finish second. Ubanji held on for the show dough.

It was the first winning drive this season for Ferrari, who has been no stranger to the winner’s circle in his career. His victory Saturday night was the 358th of his career.

Go Go George, a 7-year-old altered son of Neely Dunn, is owned by Kiesha Ferrari and trained by his driver. He paid $8.40 for win.
