Eddie Davis, 79, wins at Harrington Tuesday

Harrington, DE — Longtime Delaware driving champion Eddie Davis, now 79, won the first race on the Harrington Raceway program Tuesday (April 25) with Kathy Davis’ Missstarofnova ($27.80).

Veteran harness racing participant Eddie Davis rallied Missstarofnova to a 12-1 upset on Tuesday at Harrington Raceway. Fotowon photo.

Davis, a winner of 8,635 races lifetime, only drives on a limited basis currently and notched the win with a mare trained by his son Martin. The homebred is a daughter of stallion Nova Artist and out of the dam Seamstresforthepan, both of whom the Davis family raced. Missstarofnova left the gate from post seven and eventually settled in third before angling wide in the stretch and getting the lead in the shadow of the wire in a tight photo over Spoiled Rotn Girl. It was her second career win.

In the $15,000 overnight feature, My Kiwi Lady N ($40.80, Tony Morgan) was a 1:53.3 winner over Cruzinforavictory and Divine Deo. Owned and trained by Chris Scicluna, My Kiwi Lady led all the way for a wire-to-wire upset. It was one of three wins on the card for Morgan.

Live racing at Harrington will continue on a Monday through Wednesday schedule. Post time is 4:30 p.m.
