Emerald’s Legacy draws off late in Meadows top trot

Emerald’s Legacy yielded the early lead to Brookview Bolt but soon overtook that rival for Dave Palone. The 4-year-old Father Patrick-Devilish Emerald gelding left Brookview Bolt in his wake, defeating him by 2 lengths in 1:54.4 over a “good” surface. The Hazelton rallied from last for show.

Scott Betts trains Emerald’s Legacy, who now boasts a lifetime bankroll of $172,985, for Tim Betts, Nick Catalano, Keith Pippi and Shanamphilaniklou Inc. It was one of three wins for Palone on the 13-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Thursday (Dec. 7) when the program features a $396.80 carryover in the Early Pentafecta (race 4). First post is 12:45 p.m.
