Enchanted Mission takes Friday feature at Northville

Northville, MI — Enchanted Mission (Marc St. Louis Jr.) dashed through the snow Friday (Nov. 9) night to capture the $10,800 Open Trot at Northville Downs by a length and a quarter in 1:59.2.

The team left hard for the lead along with rival Swan Leader (Charles Taylor), who tripped the beam to the quarter in :28.4. St. Louis and Enchanted Mission then took over past the quarter and never looked back after a half in 1:00, three-quarters in 1:29.3, then stopping the timer in 1:59.2. Enchanted Mission is trained by Danielle St. Louis for owner Dr. Joshua Tanis. The victory marked career win number 25 for the eight-year-old son of Manofmanymissions, whose earnings now total $159,528.

Meanwhile, the night’s driving leaders were Kody Massey with four wins and Marc St. Louis, Jr. with three wins. Trainer Paul Cloer, Jr continued his hot streak with a training triple, of which two wins were for owner Lases Racing.

With just three race nights left in the 2022 meet, the driver and trainer standings continue to heat up.  With his four wins tonight, Kody Massey moves to 93 wins, now just 10 wins behind meet’s leader Marc St. Louis, Jr. who has 103 following his three-win evening. On the trainer side, Paul Cloer, Jr. passed Jim Trey Brinson (31 wins) for the lead with his now 33-win total. Danielle St. Louis (31 wins) moved into a tie for second with Brinson and Elizabeth Tolley is in fourth with 28 and Gerald Malady is in fifth with 25.

Northville Downs live racing resumes Saturday (Dec 10th ) at 7:30 p.m. Northville Downs races every Friday and Saturday night from now through Dec. 17.
